Hello and welcome,
I hope this finds you well and that you're enjoying the wonderful weather of late.
Sadly, since the last newsletter, Dave the dog who normally features, has become paralysed in his back legs and has had a major operation on his spine!
However, he's starting to make a good recovery so I hope by the time the next newsletter comes out in the Summer, he will once again be up and around and able to contribute!
Many people have told me that often the things that really help them are 'bite sized' comments that they can remember easily or write down on a yellow sticky note they can put on the fridge.
Well, I am currently busy working on developing a smart phone App called 'Mind Monkey' that will have all the benefits of working with me, with the added bonus of not having to actually meet me! (Hooray I hear you shout!)
One of the smaller features of Mind Monkey will be "Present Moment Reminders". These will be sent out by text or email to subscribers as little occasional reminders to help them 'stay in' or 'get back to' the present moment, in order to become free of over thinking, anxiety, stress and worry.
I thought therefore that I would share some of them with you here, so if anything 'resonates' with you, write it down and stick it on your fridge!

Present Moment Reminders
Before carefully reading each of these Present Moment Reminders, why not pause, and breathe in deeply through your nose, and breathe out slowly through your mouth.
"Always remember, it’s not the events in your life that create the perception of crisis, it’s the way you choose to think about those events!"
“Know that you can always choose to become aware that your thoughts are not reality, they are merely your 'Mind Monkeys' interpretation of reality!"

"This is a gentle reminder to notice if you are truly hearing what others are saying to you or if you are listening to your minds 'opinion' of what others are saying to you?"
"This is a gentle reminder to notice if you are truly experiencing the events of your life as they unfold in the moment or if you are merely experiencing your minds 'opinion' of these events?"
"Notice that when you accept the reality of 'what is' in the moment, you remain calm, but when your mind forms a negative opinion of 'what is' and refuses to accept it, you feel stress!"
"The real you is not the voice inside your mind, that labels, judges and forms opinions and stories about you, your life and the people in it. The real you is the conscious awareness that witnesses the voice doing it!"
